Whilst other people like landlords have some control, the primary responsibility rests with the employer. The Responsible Person will be held accountable. Current legislation states the Responsible Person is strongly advised to nominate a ‘competent’ supplier, who can demonstrate it has the appropriate skills and experience. Both or either party may be held responsible at the time of inspection or post incident.
